19:45 // CUSTOMER NANOWATER STONE: versiondog as part of ceramic membrane

      Speaker:
    Jan Remus
    C&I / Automation Engineering Manager
    Nanostone Water

    Content:

The production of ceramic filters for industrial applications requires a high degree of discipline in addition to the highly complex production processes. Nanostone Water lives the "change management process" with all the associated methods.

Due to the ever-increasing level of automation of our process equipment and the related understanding that changes in the user application have an impact on quality characteristics, we use VersionDog to identify authorized as well as unauthorized changes in the PLC programs.

Besides changes in the PLC applications, we focus on recipe entries and parameter changes. Here, the "jobs" in versiondog help us to detect and evaluate deviations to previous settings in a very short time. The team grows. Accesses to control program statuses are now managed by versiondog.

09:00 // CUSTOMER SIEMENS ENERGY: Replacing hundreds of zip-files with versiondog

    Jan Petersen
    Senior Manufacturing Engineer
    Siemens Energy AS

    Content:

To ensure that drilling rigs can drill and ships can leave port, Siemens Energy relies on services like AUVESY’s versiondog software. Jan Petersen remembers well the challenges before versiondog was introduced. Before a service engineer could leave for the job he had to download the latest zip-fil to his computer. After a successful service visit the updated software was stored on the engineers PC, often due to lack of internet access offshore. These new versions were not always promptly transferred to the central server and thus to engineering. In the worst case, they were never transferred because the files on the server were forgotten.

Before versiondog was introduced to Siemens Energy AS, it was possible to save the current software versions in a zip file and then change the date and time. Due to the number of manual entries, this way carried the risk of incorrect entries. The risk associated with this method disappeared with the introduction of versiondog, because of versiondog automatically shows who changed what, where, when and why. Learn more about how Siemens Energy switched from zip files to a valuable tool like versiondog and how Siemens Energy has now a comprehensive and uniform overview for all projects and versions in production and maintenance.

What is your response on the following questions in your OT environment:

    • Do you have a consistent backup strategy? If yes, when was it last performed?
    • Where is it stored?
    • Does the program that is running on this automation device coming from the latest version of the project?
    • Are you able to generate an inventory list of your automation devices and detect if they are running on vulnerable firmware?

If these questions sound familiar to you, don't miss our octoplant product demonstration. In this lecture you can expect the presentation and demonstration of our new platform octoplant, the structure of the system architecture and the essential workflows. Furthermore, we will show you how to put your project data in context to generate information, monitor and analyze the impact of your processes directly in your automation environment.

As a user, you benefit from a central "single source of through" system, a consistent backup strategy and high machine availability by reducing downtimes. You are also able to inventory your automation devices at the push of a button and at the same time increase the security of your systems.

10:45 // PARTNER NOVOTEK UK: What about the assets on the assets?

    Speaker:

    Sean Robinson
    Manager, Software Solutions
    Novotek UK

    Content:

The core assets in an industrial operation are understood to require a lifecycle plan, and all of the care and maintenance that implies. But even as the environment around those machines changes, the automation and IT assets that drive them – the assets on the assets – are often only given “keep-it-running” consideration. However, early adopters of more robust technology asset management and version control solutions are finding that the right tools around the equipment base can not only defray the costs involved in maintenance, they can offer meaningful daily value. Whether adapting to constant process and recipe evolution in manufacturing, or the shift to “smart networks” in the utilities space, a good tech asset management solution means industrial firms can improve their capabilities in areas such as error-proofing, proof-of-compliance, project team coordination and more.

To give conferences attendees ideas on where octoplant can positively affect their operations, Novotek will share insights gleaned from engagements with customers across several industry types, including consumer goods production, life sciences manufacturing and water utilities. Those experiences illustrate how technology asset management has become integrated into regular work processes, and how that is delivering value to those operations.

11:30 // CONVERSION: Getting started on moving to the next level in your production - the commerial path

    Speaker:

    Oliver Gronau
    Group Chief Commercial Officer
    AUVESY-MDT

    Content:

The digitalization process has profound impact across all industries and the shop floor with its increasing automation approach is a center of this change process. Flexibility has become an imperative in many production environments and so has been the extended cooperation between the OT and IT teams as a paramount of success. Besides the introduction of new technology aspects like Big Data and AI, also the approach on how solutions and software is purchased is changing rapidly. With the launch of the octoplant platform Auvesy-MDT has moved its license model from a perpetual approach to a subscription model. In this session the various aspects of an octoplant implementation, conversion, and purchase that might start with a pilot and end with a worldwide role out will be covered.

    17:00 PM - 20:15 PM CEST
This session is aimed in particular at companies from AMERICAS.

    Global Head of Business Development
    Claroty

    Content:

In this session Mor Bikovsky will discuss how to detect cyber security vulnerabilities in your automated production and actions you can take to mitigate risk.

Critical infrastructure operators are adopting new technologies to improve operational efficiencies, but these changes also add risk. Preventative cyber security measures should be implemented when connecting operational technology to enterprise information technology and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

Claroty is trusted by the world's largest enterprises to help reveal, protect, and manage their OT, IoT, and IIoT assets.
